Kupwara, Dec 10 : During a tour of Ishfaq ur Rehman Poswal President Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha J&K accompanied by Ch. Ab. Hamid Kasana Gen. Secretary J&K, Provincial President & Distt. President Distt. Kupwara of Nowgam A & B panchayats of Langate Constituency (Kupwara) interacted with local people in general & schedule tribe population in particular.
The visiting team was briefed by the locals that they are victims of terrible apathy & neglect hitherto shown by not only the concerned Govt. Deptt’s but also the local MLA. As a result of this attitude of ignoring the legitimate rights of the poor, helpless downtrodden gujjars, there is complete frustration among the gujjars who are facing their past, present & future bleak.
The local gujjar youth are feeling sour that despite efforts of upcoming gujjars, youth & other by way of recently elected Panchs & Sirpanchs in more than 10 panchayats, they are not able to get justice & rights simply for want of cooperation & lack of interest & sympathies on the part of local MLA as also local administration.
Poswal made it amply clear in the public meeting at Nowgam panchayat of Langate urging Omar Abdullah Chief Minister J&K to personally intervene & set the things right as a priority agenda.
He further expressed that in case there is no positive response from State Govt./ local administration, we will left with no choice but to launch peaceful agitation in the form of Dharna, rally continuously during the month of January 2012 at Handwara till our genuine constitutional rights are secured.
