POONCH, Dec 11: Hosts district Poonch shall lock horns against Jammu district in both men and women’s finals scheduled for tomorrow in the ongoing 24th State Volleyball Championship at Government Degree College courts, here.
Earlier, in the men’s semi-finals, played in the afternoon, Jammu beat Kathua in straight but close sets of 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 and Poonch outplayed Baramulla 3-2 (26-28, 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 15-09). Quarterfinals Results: Jammu bt Rajouri 25-14, 25-22; Kathua bt Samba 25-21, 25-19; Poonch bt Pulwama 25-09, 25-16; Baramulla bt Anantnag 25-11, 25-14.
Meanwhile, in girls section, Jammu shall be playing against Poonch district in title clash at 11 am tomorrow. In the semi-finals, played today, Poonch downed Kathua 25-16, 25-13, 25-17 and Jammu outplayed Rajouri 25-16, 25-15, 25-21.
Earlier, in women’s quarterfinals, Rajouri beat Budgam in straight equal sets of 25-20, 25-20 while Jammu outplayed Pulwama 25-08, 25-18.
