| Army felicitates ex-servicemen | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 11: As part of ‘Vijay Diwas Week’ an ex-servicemen rally was organised at Kalsian, Rajouri district by Tithwal Brigade under aegis of Ace of Spades Division.
Maj Gen KH Singh, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division inaugurated the rally in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri and interacted with the 350 ex-servicemen present.
A medical camp was organized during the rally wherein medical specialists and dental surgeon provided ‘on the spot’ medical help to the ex-servicemen. A grievance cell was also set up at the rally site to register their in grievances.
During the rally, Maj RS Thakur (retd), Secretary, Zila Sainik Board, Rajouri apprised the veterans about various welfare schemes introduced by the Central and State government and various welfare activities being undertaken by Zila Sainik Welfare Board.
Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division urged the ex-servicemen to take maximum benefit from the various welfare schemes and avail the opportunities available in the fields of banking, insurance and small scale enterprises.
He said “We deeply acknowledge the tremendous contribution made by all ex-servicemen in the service of our nation”.
A colorful cultural programme was also presented by the children of Kalsian and Bhowani villages.
Vijay Singh Sambyal, IPS, SSP Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal, IAS, SDM, Nowshera, Kaushal Kumar Sharma, Addl SP, Nowshera and other civil dignitaries also attended the rally.
