| Rs. 10.65 cr to be being spent on construction of roads in Shangus: Hussain | | | Jammu, Jan 11 To provide road connectivity to the far flung areas of Shangus constituency of Anantnag district, an amount of Rs. 10.65 crore is being spent on 14 schemes under Prime Minister’s Gram Sarak Yojana (PMGSY). This was stated by Minister of State for Power and Health, Peer Mohammad Hussain while addressing a high level officers meeting here today. He said that an amount of Rs. 4.50 crore is being spent on 10 schemes under NABARD which include Poshnari-Chatpal, Tanjimulla-Chowgam, Chowgam-Pathribal, Kothiyar-Pahloo Nowgam, Gopalpora-Tailwani Shangus, Bontooru-Chatisingpora, Bonihar-Sherigund Ahoo, Rainipora-Brah, Ranipora-Rakhi Brah and others. Similarly, two schemes funded by Asian Development Bank through Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) are being taken in hand at a cost of Rs. 5.50 crore which include Thajiwara-Khandoora Shangus and Brakpora-Magraypora Kangan Haal. He said that Rs. 65 lakh have been earmarked for construction of Gopalpora-Pahlipora and Halakha-Chuntihaal roads under PMGSY. Mr. Hussain directed the officers to complete the ongoing schemes within stipulated time and also make judicious use of funds and ensure quality work on construction of roads to facilitate people with sound road connectivity. The meeting was attended by senior officers of roads and buildings and other allied agencies.
