BJP leadership justify the disqualified MLAs statement | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 11: There is a total vertical divided in state BJP over the recent statement of the five disqualified MLAs who had leveled serious allegations against the party leadership including leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitely. The party leaders and activists in the state unit are also annoyed with the style of functioning of the state leadership, justifying the statement of five disqualified MLAs including Jagdish Raj Sapolia, MLA Basholi, Master Lal Chand MLA Bani, Durga Dass, MLA Hira Nagar, Bharat Bhushan MLA, Raipur Damana and Prof Garu Ram, MLA R S Pura MLAs the BJP activists have said that the state leaders are responsible for not keeping the house in order. They also question the expulsion of seven MLAs from the Party including Party senior leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that when no action was taken against one of the MLAs who was responsible for cross voting during the Rajya Sabha elections in favour NC candidate Dr Farooq Abdullah on the directives of one of the senior national leaders at Delhi to maintain his personnel proximity with NC patriarch why the seven MLAs were expelled from the Party on cross voting issue during this year's Legislative Council elections. Holding Party leadership of adopting double standards on the issue the BJP activists said that on the one hand party right from beginning has opposed the National Conference and its leadership for its divisive polices. Even they hold the then NC Government responsible for mysterious death of founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS). If Party has such differences with NC who have total contradictions in ideologies how then some leaders at National level advocate for supporting the NC leaders in election to RS or Legislative Council. Criticizing the expulsion from the Party seven MLAs these leaders said that when voting for Dr Abdullah is justified then what was harm in voting for NC candidates for Legislative Council elections. The Party should have thought over the decision and taken all pros and cons in view before taking the expulsion decision. Expressing their serious concern over the expulsion of seven MLAs including senior leader like Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, they said the party did not even consider his 60 year loyalty to the Party. They said by expelling the MLAs party has received a major setback and it will also weaken its support base in the Jammu region and Party will face a drubbing in the next year Municipal Corporation elections. |
