10 MVA power station dedicated to Babliana people

LEH, Dec 12: In order to provide scenic beauty to visiting tourists and pilgrims enroute Kunjwani to Sidhra, Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today said that a comprehensive plan to beautify the areas is under strong consideration of the Government for planting ornamental plants, landscaping, irrigation besides installation of street lights adding that a detailed project of Rs. 5 crore has been prepared for this purpose.
Minister was interacting with the local population at Babliana after dedicating 10 MVA power station to Babliana people, commissioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 89 lakh. Bhalla said with the augmentation of power station upto 10 MVA, the power scenario in Babliana, Digiana, Chib Mohalla, Jeevan Nagar, Azad Nagar, Gangyal and its adjoining areas would be improved to a large extent. He said people have faced lot of problems due to unscheduled power cuts during summer season this year.
Keeping in view the situation with regard to improved power supply in the areas, he said Government has taken this step for providing relief after installation of separate 10 MVA power station at Babliana. Minister said Government was committed to ensure adequate power and drinking water supply in every corner of the state and there is no constraint of funds in ensuring better power and drinking water infrastructure to the people.
He asked the officers to ensure regular power supply in metered areas. He asked the locals to use electricity judiciously and do not get illegal power connections to save power for themselves. He asked the engineers to install poles including wires in the uncovered areas of the Babliana village.
Minister said peace is the vital key for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country adding that people’s cooperation is must for the Government to make the State a prosperous one. He called upon the people not to heed on nefarious designs whoever wants to use innocent for their personal interests and always disrupt peace, brotherhood, communal harmony and amity of the State. He asked them to give their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and prosperity in the state.
Bhalla said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner. He said that Government has taken several historical steps to rejuvenate overall developmental profile of the State. He said sectors like PHE, health, R&B, education, tourism, power among other sectors have received focused attention of the Government adding it was due to its pro-people policy that the masses at present are benefited.
