Enemies of peace carried out a terror attack to heat up atmosphere of state: Sagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri Dec 12: Stating terrorist attack on his escort as a cowardice act, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohd Sagar today described it as an anti-human act carried out by enemies of peace to distort the peace process. Minister while talking to reporters at the sidelines of a Panch-Sarpanch convention here at Dak Bunglow Rajouri said this and added the yesterday’s terror attack on his escort is just an attempt to rekindle terrorism and to derail the peace emerging in J&K after hectic efforts from the state government. Sagar however added that Sunday’s terror attack should not be associated with the revocation of AFSPA. The conference was attended by Minister for Panchyati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohd Sagar who was accompanied with MoS Panchayti Raj Ajaz Ahmed Khan, MoS Power and local MLA Shabir Ahmed Khan. On his arrival he was given a warm welcome by local and a large gathering of Sarpanches and Panches belonging to panchayts of twin border districts Rajouri and Poonch. They apprised respective members about the problems faced by them. Majority of these panchayti representatives demanded for 73th and 74th Amendment in the state to setup a total effective panchayti system. In his address Sagar said that state govt under the leadership of CM Omar is keen for grass rooting of democracy and panches and sarpanches are the only mean for this. He also stated that already govt has decided to transfer the powers of various important Govt departments to panchayts which shows Govt's will to empower panchayts. During the convention a two minute silence was also observed in the fond memory of Gulzar Ahmed security personal who died in yesterday attack over Sagar's escort.
