Youth Cong seeks early decision on parl attack accused | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 13:A tearful homage was paid by Youth Congress workers led by RS Pathania, Youth Congress leader from J&K, to victims of Parliament attack while observing ten years of attack on the highest seat of power in India. While making a further appeal to the President of India as well as Union government, they said that unnecessary and uncalled for delay in finally deciding the mercy petition of Afzal Guru has not gone well down the spine of people of this country. They further said that the undercurrent and the hidden sentiment throughout the country is that that 100 crore-plus nation needs no soft policy on terrorism and the sobriquet of ‘soft state’; needs to be washed away. They called for speeding up steps and efforts for brining to book the culprits of the shameful terrorist act. It is a biggest travesty of justice that ten years after the elapsing of the shameful episode, the culprits are yet to be brought to book. The function marked a rare display of cathartic outburst of patriotic adrenaline and all the Youth Congress activists present took a resolve to stand like a rock against the divisive forces in the country. R S Pathania while addressing the Youth Congress activists and the people having assembled over there called upon the youth to stand firm against the scourge of terrorism. At the same time, he underscored the need for creating a strong international consensus against terrorism and radical steps to pressurize the neighbouring country to stop terrorist-training camps from running from its soil. He also exploited the opportunity to make a fervent appeal to the misled youth of Kashmir to fall in national mainstream and work for peaceful resolution of Kashmir stalemate. Gun, stones and slogans have not ever solved any issue. And an inclusive dialogue involving all shades of opinions, thoughts and theories is the only solution of the Kashmir stalemate.
