| Seminar on career option in Navy organized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BILLAWAR, Dec 13: Government Degree College today organized a career orientation programme on “Career opportunities in Merchant Navy and Indian Navy”.
Former Naval chief petty officer, Rakesh Sharma apprised the students about the career options available in the field of merchant and Indian navy. He shared his experiences of 25 years of service and the adventurous life in the marine force.
He gave a detailed presentation to the participants about various courses like “Pre- Sea training course, Certificate course in maritime catering, Diploma and Degree courses in nautical science in merchant navy.
He also threw lights on the opportunities particularly for girls to join as officers in different cadres like logistics, education, piloting and survey. Speaking on the occasion principal B.L Gupta exhorted the students to avail the career opportunities in the field of navy.
He also extends thanks to the speaker for delivering an informative lecture which will enhance the knowledge of the students. Among others Prof Hitesh Basotra, convener Career Counseling Cell, Prof. Amit Sharma, other staff members and large number of college students were also present during the programme.
