J&K participating in forest sports meet being held at Dehradun | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: Union Ministry of Environment, Ecology & Forests has been organizing All India Forest Sports Meet after every two years in various states of the country, in which all the State based Forest organizations are participating regularly. This year also the 19th All India Forest Sports meet is being held at Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and the J&K Forest Department is also participating in the said Meet. The sports contingent comprising of seventy (70) officers/ officials left for Dehradun (Uttarakhand) yesterday on December 13, 2011 from Jammu to participate in the said Meet. The contingent is participating in various events i.e. Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming, Shooting, Athletics, Snooker, Billiards and cultural programmes etc. The contingent for the Dehradun tour was flagged off by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) R.D. Tiwari, IFS while other senior officers were present on the occasion. The contingent is being lead by Suresh Chugh, Chief Conservator of Forests (Central). The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests expressed satisfaction over the performance of various teams during the trials. He said that forest teams from J&K will rub shoulders with the opponents from other States and bring laurels to the state. He hoped that after a brilliant performance in Football, Cricket Snooker/ Billiards, Swimming, March Pass and cultural programmes in the past, the teams of other disciplines will also perform excellently and bring pride to the State. He also hoped that all the teams will excel their performance during the sports meet.
