195 passengers airlifted, so far in Kargil Courier | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 13: 195 passengers have been airlifted, so far in Kargil Courier, since the air-service started on 29th November 2011. Today 30 passengers were airlifted from Kargil to Srinagar, 28 from Srinagar to Kargil, 32 from Kargil to Jammu and 40 from Jammu to Kargil, in two AN-32 aircrafts of Indian Air Force planes. Earlier, 59 passengers had been airlifted between Kargil and Jammu on 10th December and 6 passengers on 29th November. The passengers airlifted also included 28 Hajjis out of 50 Hajjis, who have returned to Srinagar after performing Hajj. State Government has made arrangements for airlifting the other stranded passengers at Srinagar & Kargil on Wednesday 14th December, as well. The passengers have appreciated Minister for CAPD & Transport, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Chief Executive Counsellor LAHDC Kargil, Kachu Ahmed Ali Khan, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, Commissioner, Civil Aviation S. Katoch and especially the AOC J&K, Indian Air Force, Air Vice Marshall, Jasbir Walia, (VM,VSM) and Air-2, Group Captain, PK Sharma (VM), for facilitating the airlift.
