| Div Com for early completion of sewerage works | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, DECEMBER 13- Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened an officers meeting to review the latest progress of various ongoing sewerage works being executed by NBCC & ERA besides widening of B. C. Road.
The meeting was attended by Director ERA Khalid Muzaffar, SE PWD R&B Mr. P. L. Bhushan, SE PHE City Mr. Vinod Luthra, SE PDD Mr. P. K. Puri, XEN PHE Mr. Ashok Gandotra, XEN PHE North Mr. Sunil Gupta, XEN UEED Mr. Nissar Hussain Khan, Jt. Commissioner JMC Mr. S. R. Dogra, Project Manager ERA Mr. M. K. Rohmetra, officers from NBCC and ERA and other senior officers from various departments.
Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting regarding completion of various ongoing development projects in Jammu city which mainly include Sewerage project and widening of B.C. road.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the executing agencies involved in these projects to expedite the pace of work so that the same would be completed at the earliest.
Referring to slow pace of work by NBCC, the Div Com directed the NBCC to constitute four teams sector wise to expedite the pace of work and assured that the engineers from UEED, PDD, PHE and other concerned departments will accompanied with the NBCC at the construction site to provide their full cooperation.
Referring to Rehabilitation plan of B. C. Road, Div Com asked the concerned departments to start the acquisition process and suitably rehabilitate the people who will displace due to widening of B. C. road projects. He directed the officers for ensuring early acquisition and rehabilitation work so that the ambitious projects of widening of various roads in Jammu city would be completed within stipulated time frame.
Dr Kotwal called upon the officers to work with greater zeal and dedication so that the ongoing development works being taken in hand by the NBCC and ERA in Jammu city could be completed within stipulated period. He asked the officers to visit the sites where the development works are going on to make sure that these works are being done as per norms.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting with officers from various private telecom companies and Sub Contractors to sort out the issues of Work Contract Tax WCT for the period of 2007-08 and 2008-09 and other payments dues.
