Rangshala Sansthan staged “Aatanki”- a terrorist in Dogri Drama Fest-2011

Jammu, Dec 13: Rangshala Theatre Group of Society- Jammu staged Rakesh Mayus’s Dogri Play ‘Aatanki’- a terrorist under the able direction of the renowned theater director of the state Umesh Singh at Performing Arts Studio, Jammu in NDKM”s Dogri Drama Fest-2011 in which Meenu Kamal renowned Make –up expert of the state was the Chief Guest & Vikram Sharma renowned theatre personality of the state was the
Guest of Honour.
‘Aatanki’ a terrorist, depicts the condition of the common man as well as the end/worse condition of terrorist (Aatanki) who choose the wrong path of militancy while facing different situation in life. How and what the family members of these terrorists have to undergo under such circumstances is very well depicted through today’s performance.
Rakesh K. ‘Mayus’ was the only actor of today’s performance who in a very skillful way portrayed the characters of Anwar (Aatanki- a terrorist) and Master Rafiq Ahmad (father). It was delight to watch him act two different characters.
Others who helped in staging today’s performance were costumes designed by Sunita K. Thakur, make-up Siddharth Singh, music conceived by Rakesh K. Mayus, set & property by Himanshu Darshan, production manager Nikhil Singh, light & sound by Siddharth Singh, photography by Naveen Soodan and assistant director of the play was Gautam Singh.
While speaking on the occasion Meenu Kamal Chief Guest lauded the work of Rangshala and appreciated today’s performance especially the performer of today’s production. Vikram Sharma speaking on the occasion said he personally felt a passion behind today’s performance. He said that he would like to see some more good performance from Rangshala under the direction of promising theatre director Umesh Singh.
Umesh Singh Director/President of Rangshala Theatre group of society, Jammu thanked all the present especially Meenu Kamal Chief Guest and Vikram Sharma Guest of honour for sparing their valuable time.
He especially thanked Shashi Bhushan, Aditya Bhanu organizing Dogri Theatre Festival-2011. Two minutes silence was observed in the memory of martys of Parliament attack ten years back.
