Woman's car accident turns out to be her murder, husband held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: The death of a housewife in a car accident at Jamora on Samba-Mansar road here on February 2 this year has turned out to be a case of murder. Anita Devi (32) -- a BSF school teacher at Samba -- was returning home at Kaili Mandi in Samba along with her husband Yudhvir Singh in their car on February 2 when the incident had occured. The car had fallen in a deep gorge at Jamora, resulting in the instant death of Anita. Yudhvir had survived unhurt. Yudhvir, who was in the driving seat, later told police in his statement that he had managed to jump out of the car, while Anita hadn't. However, during investigation into the case, police came to know that he had an affair with a girl and wanted to marry her, police sources said. Yudhvir was then taken into custody. During sustained interrogation, he allegedly confessed to have locked Anita in the car and then pushed it into the gorge, the sources added. He did all this to marry another girl. Police had now booked him under section 302 of RPC. Sources said police had also recorded the statement of an eyewitness who had seen Yudhvir pushing the car into the gorge. |
