| Chib inspects dev works in border areas of Suchetgarh | | Lays foundation of 3 roads, announces Rs 25 lakh for dev works | | early times report
JAMMU, DECEMBER 14:-“Government is committed to accelerate the pace of developmental activities with special focus on rural and border areas of the State”, stated Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Medical Education and Technical Education Mr R.S. Chib during his day-long tour to Suchetgarh constituency here today.
During the visit, the Minister inspected various ongoing development works in Satrayan, Satuwali, Balu Chak, Devi Garh, Hansa, Chakori and Sai villages of the constituency.
The Minister also laid foundation for 3 road projects in Suchetgarh which included 5 km Sai Khurd to Balu Chak, 2 km Balu Chak to Kaman Post and 6.5 km Sai to Nikkowali road to be constructed under Border Area Development Programme (BADP). This will provide road connectivity to about 12 villages of the constituency. He directed the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of these roads for convenience of the people. He also inspected the construction work of 1.1 km Kalapul to Fatuchak road.
The Minister announced Rs 5 lakh for upgradation of playground of Government Middle School Satrayan, Rs 5 lakh for Chakroi playing field and Rs 3 lakh for cremation ground at Sai Khurad out of his Constituency Development Fund. He said that Rs 10 lakh will be spent on establishment of a new stadium at Sai Khurad which will be named as Babu Ram Lal Stadium. This stadium will also be utilized for State level sports events.
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister instructed the concerned authorities to immediately start Tempo services from R.S.Pura to Satuwali via Satrayan. Besides, he asked the officers to renovate the damaged tube well at Devigarh. He also announced Rs 2.50 lakh for construction of a community hall at Devigarh.
