ReZ assigned duties | | | early times report JAMMU, DECEMBER 14- Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba, Mr. A.K. Malhotra in a meeting assigned duties at panchayat level to all the Rehbr-e-Zirat (ReZ) working in the district. He apprised that there were presently 72 ReZ working in district Samba in 99 Panchayats. He assigned duties to Rez to work at Panchayat level in collection of basic data of each and every panchayat to have close coordination with Panchs/Sarpanchs in order to implement various programmes/schemes at the ground level. A few ReZ as per their qualification have been engaged to look after bee-keeping and mushroom cultivation schemes in the district. Mr Malhotra said that all the plans shall be framed by the ReZ and Junior Agriculture Extension Officers at Panchayat level in consultation with Panchs/Sarpanchs for further submission to the higher authorities. They will also assess the demand of particular machineries/implement/seed/fertilizer/other inputs of their respective panchayats besides they will also facilitate in conducting all demonstrations and training/awareness programmes in the respective panchayats. Mr. Malhotra said that ReZ and JAEO’s shall maintain a close contact with the farmers of respective panchayats and their presence in the panchayat shall be monitored by the Agricutture Extension Officers and Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers of district Samba who will expedite the performance report to the Chief Agriculture Officer on fortnightly basis. Those who were present in the meeting were District Agriculture Officer, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Subject Matter Specialist and Agriculture Extension Officers.
