| CCB: Where erring officials rewarded with prize postings | | No lessons have been learnt from Kanak Mandi branch scam | | JAMMU | JAN 11
It seems that Citizens Cooperative Bank (CCB) authorities have not learnt any lesson from the recent scam in Kanak Mandi Branch as most of erring bank officials are still continuing with their prize postings in the posh city localities. These officials are reportedly responsible for the rise in Bank NPAs, as they have sanctioned loan worth crore of rupees by using their discretionary powers.
Some highly placed sources on the condition of anonymity divulged that Bank management is hesitant in affecting any order against these officials. These persons have burdened the bank with liabilities worth crore of rupees as loan amount sanctioned by them has turned out to be NPAs. Purshottam Gupta, at present Manager Ware House branch has sanctioned a total of near 170 loan cases using his discretionary powers during his tenure at Gangyal Branch. Out of which, near 130 cases are NPAs. Kuldeep Gupta, at present Manager, Akhnoor branch sanctioned a total of more than 150 cases during his tenure at Ware House Branch. Out of which, more than 125 are NPAs. K.G. Sahni, at present Manager, Vinayak Nagar Branch also sanctioned more than 170 cases during his tenure at Shastri Nagar and Kanak Mandi Branches. Again more than 125 cases are still NPAs.
Some more names to mention are Rajiv Dogra, at present Manager; Kanak Mandi Branch also sanctioned cases in excess of 140 during his tenure at Transport Nagar and New Plot Branches. Out of which again NPAs are alarmingly high and stood at around 125. One more in the list is Manager, Janipur Ext. Counter, and Rajinder Bhardwaj. It is to be mentioned that NPAs alarmingly increased during his tenure at R.S Pura branch. The amount of NPAs increased three fold during his tenure.
It is to be mentioned once again that all these erring officials are being maintained at the most prize postings for the reason best known to the CCB authorities. Jugal Mahajan, the arrested Manager of CCB Kanak Mandi Branch was also responsible for the huge NPAs. But, the most surprising fact is that authorities at helm of Bank affairs are still sleeping over the matter of increasing liabilities, sources added. Collectively all these erring officials are responsible for the generation of huge amount of NPAs through unmindful utilization of their discretionary power.
Meanwhile, the family members of Jugal Mahajan has denied the involvement of Nationalized Bank’s employee in CCB scam and further stated in a signed statement that there were no business relations between Jugal and that employee.
