Failure to finalise land delays construction of Mini Sectt complex
12/15/2011 12:03:17 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Dec 14: The construction of Mini Secretariat in Rajouri is becoming a contentious issue with each passing day as the land for the proposed complex has yet to be finalised thus delaying the work.
It is pertinent to mention here that Government had announced a mini secretariat complex in Rajouri to fulfil a long running demand of locals.
After the announcement, locals demanded its construction somewhere inside city area and it was agreed for building this complex on the Govt land located in ITI Mohalla while District administration also gave positive response on this land selection.
But even after passage of several months, the administration has failed to announce the exact location on which this complex is to be built.
A few days back PWD department issued a tender notice with respect to the construction of this complex; however, the location of the complex was not mentioned in the said notification.
The tender notice simply mentioned Rajouri and not the exact site where the complex has to come up.
Advocates, political leaders and members of Beopar Mandal expressed their resentment and said that this move by PWD totally reflects the anti-people will of Govt machinery.
When ET contacted MLA Nowshera and senior National Conference leader Radhay Sham Sharma, he said that during a meeting of all the MLAs of Rajouri district, it was collectively decided that Mini Secretariat complex will be built in anyplace inside the city but now the moves by Government machinery reflects some odd in the entire process.
