Rousing welcome accorded Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal

Doda, Dec 14: Locals drawn from various walks of life from Chenab Valley today gave a rousing welcome to the retired Commissioner Secretary Shaikh Mahboob Iqbal Bhaderwahi who was received by a grand gathering at Pull Doda on his arrival to his home town.
Locals from Doda, Balassa, Chiralla, Pranoo, Bhalla , Bhaderwah gathered at Pull Doda early this morning to welcome Mehboob Iqbal who was on his way to home town Bhaderwah to attend the welcome party organized by Bhaderwah Citizen council in his regard. The enthusiastic locals garlanded and showered flower petals upon the visiting official Commissioner Secretary who today arrived here to after attaining his superannuation of official assignments.
The crowd awaiting the cavalcade took the Officer in shape of a procession which took 4 hours to reach Bhaderwah from pull-Doda as people stopped the cavalcade and interacted with him. On way to Bhaderwah Iqbal addressed people at more than 50 places.
A large number of gathering including 75 Sarpanches of Bhaderwah constituency who were waiting from early morning at new bus stand Bhaderwah welcome the cavalcade of the son of the soil amidst the sloganeering in praise of the retired officer.
A senior citizen Professor (Retd) Kamishwar said that he had seen such grand warm well come only three times in my life, first when late sheikh Mohamed Abdullah the founder of National conference visited Bhaderwah and second time when late prime minister Indra Gandhi visited Bhaderwah and today I witnessed the same on visit of Mehboob Iqbal.
Mean while Mehboob Iqbal do not make it clear whether he will join any political plate farm or not, but he assured the people that he will continue serve them as he has done during his service at all ranks” My doors are open for all without any distinguish my aim was and is to serve the needy people of this hilly Chinab region”.
