Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, December 15: Police, in order to win public confidence and to bridge the gap between Police and public in remote areas of district Udhampur, convened a Police-public meet at Latti.
The meet was attended by all ranks of Police and general public of Latti area. SSP Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmed Beig advised police personnel of the area to win the confidence and sympathy of public and refrain from acts that would defame the credibility and dignity of Police department.
The people should not be upset by rude and harsh behaviour of police. Complainants and all the law abiding citizens should be treated with highest degree of respect, which can have a profound impact on their confidence in the Police, as police can not succeed without the backing of society.
.SSP said that people are eyes and ears of Police and with their active co-operation, all anti-national and anti-social elements could be dealt with an iron hand by the Police. A large gathering from the Latti area including prominent citizens, members of youth clubs, civil society committees attended the meet and all of them appreciated the initiative of Police for constructing Passenger Shed under Civic Action Plan in Latti as passenger shed was today inaugurated by SSP Udhampur.
SSP also gave a patient hearing to the other problems being faced by the general public of Latti and assured that their problems would be taken up with the concerned departments for immediate redressal.
