| PDD daily wagers hold protest, demand regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Dec 15:To press for their long pending demands including regularization of
daily-wagers and casual workers who have been in service for the last
more than 5 to 12 years, the Power Development Department (PDD) daily
wagers staged a protest demonstration at the office of Executive
Engineer of Power Grid Station, Hatli Morh, Kathua.
In the demonstration, hundreds of daily wagers and casual workers had
assembled to register their protest to seek justice.
The protesters said that the daily-wagers are the backbone of PDD and
they perform their duty with dedication in just meagre monthly payment
which is injustice to them.
They said today’s protest dharna was the beginning of continues
agitation of the these victimized daily wagers to mount the pressure
for justice.
District president of daily wagers Susheel Kumar, Lucky, Ram Krishna,
Ranveer Singh, Nirmal Singh and others were present during the protest
dharna.
On the occasion the president of Youth Movement, Sanjeev Verma also
extended support to PDD daily wagers. He said that the state
Government should intervene in the matter to address their sufferings
and regularize them.
