| Awareness camp on health, nutrition of adolescent girls held | | | JAMMU, JAN 12
One-day awareness camp on ‘Health and Nutrition Status of Adolescent Girls’ organized by ICDS Project Gandhi Nagar at Sheikh Nagar in Bahu Fort here this morning.
About 200 adolescent girls and ladies participated in the camp. The objective of the camp was to create awareness among adolescent girls regarding their health, nutrition and also aware about the marriage after 18 years.
Speaking on the occasion, Food and Nutrition Officer Mr. A. Braru demonstrated about low cost recipes and said that the government has launched many schemes in Social Welfare Department to upgrade the status of Below Poverty line people. He asked the people to avail the benefits of schemes.
Project Officer Gandhi Nagar also spoke on the occasion and apprised the girls so that forward and to know their rights in the society so that they would be properly looked after.
On the occasion, CDPO Gandhi Nagar Mrs. Trishla Kundal and Mr. Braru distributed prizes among the participants.
Corporator Mrs. Rita Devi, Medical Officer Dr. Sushma, CDPO Gandhi Nagar Mrs. Trishla Kundal and other field officers of ICDS Project Gandhi Nagar were present on the occasion.
