BUH appreciates Soz’s concern for Urdu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 15:Anjuman Baqa-i-Urdu Hind (ABUH) has appreciated Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz for his concern shown for Urdu language in the Parliament in which Soz has demanded 2nd status to Urdu language in India. In a press statement issued by Anjuman General Secretary and Spokesman Zakir Malik Bhallesi, Anjuman Baqa-i-Urdu has said that Prof. Soz has highlighted an important issue in the parliament and has expressed concern over the injustice with Urdu in India. In the statement, Anjuman Chief Patron Farooq Shah Bukhari said that Soz invited the attention of the government towards promotion of Urdu language and he has also highlighted an important matter of non teaching of Urdu in the 1100 Central Schools opened in the country which is shocking that the language is getting its due justice. He added that there is need of introducing Urdu in all Central and State schools. He said that although Soz’s statement of providing Urdu language a 2nd National language is welcome, Anjuman is demanding to give this language equal status with Hindi. He said that both languages are sisters, born in same period and flourish in same country. Anjuman President Irfan Ali Arif has expressed deep shock over the attitude of Prasar Bharti who has reportedly returned Rs 100 Crore funds provided for Urdu programmes by government.
