| BAU holds scooter rally against transfer of registration powers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Dec 15:In continuation of the ongoing strike against transfer of registration
powers from judicial to executive officers, the members of District
Bar Association, Udhampur (BAU) today organised a scooter-motorcycle
rally which passed through Slathia Chowk, Ramnagar Chowk, Mukherjee
Bazar, Gole Market and culminated there.
While addressing the protesting Advocates, Advocate Sunny Mahajan,
President Young Lawyers Association said that the members of different
Bar Associations are observing complete strike from the last about 20
days but the NC-Cong coalition has not still considered the genuine
demands of the Advocates who are fighting for the common man's plight.
Mahajan further alleged that this indifferent attitude of the Govt
clearly shows that the Govt is trying to provide shelter to the
illegal land mafia who have illegally occupied state land.
Mahajan warned that if the Govt failed to listen to the genuine demand
taken up by the Bar Association; the lawyers will launch an aggressive
agitation against the State Government.
Further, he appealed to all the different social, political
organisations to extend their support to the cause as this issue
relates to public at large and not to the Advocate community alone.
