Goods worth Rs 720 cr traded in three years | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR The trade between divided parts of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control through the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad route has been Rupees 720 crore in last three years.
In the year there were about eight thousand trucks crossed over the LoC and seven thousand trucks came from the other part of the line through he Uri route. It is said that around one lakh ton of the commodities had been exchanged through the route, an official said.
During the year 2008-11, there was around Rs 720 crore worth trade in which around Rs 390 crore material was imported from Pakistan administered Kashmir.
The commodities include onions, bananas, chillies and other food items and vegetables.
During these three years there is approximately Rs 337 worth commodities exchanged through the Chakoti route.
While the commodities coming from the other part worth around Rs 607 to Uri. However, there was around RS 98 lakh proved to the labours for the work in the purpose, he said.
"It was estimated that around Rs 32 lakh business was done per day during these years," he added.
Meanwhile, the traders from the both parts of the Kashmir asserted that the trade should continue to boost the economic ties between the two Kashmirs.
