Late actor Dev Anand remembered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 15: Fans of legendary actor Dev Anand today took out a rally to remember his contribution to the Bollywood. The star of the Indian Film Industry passed away in London on the December 4 due to severe cardiac arrest. A rally was taken out from Kunjwani Chowk and after passing through various parts of the city which include Satwari Chowk, Gole Market, Trikuta Nagar, Jewel Chowk, Parade Ground concluded at Press Club. During the program, songs from different films of the legendary star revived the memories of the evergreen star in the hearts of the Jammuites. Many participants showed great enthusiasm in grabbing the mike from the hands of Rakesh Anand and sang songs in the honor of Dev Saab. Even some people tried to mimic Dev Anand's voice and were also quite good at that, while some tried to copy Dev mannerisms such as his style of walking, shaking head and hands. “Actually everybody wanted to show that they loved Dev Saab and really miss him. Some of them cried uncontrollably while attending the program - such was the charisma of Dev Anand”, said a participant. Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Anand disclosed that he had named his banner as 'Anand Creative Arts' inspired by the late actor. Anand remembered fondly his first meeting with the actor at his office in 1991. Anand said that that he had produced his first stage program inspired by Dev Anand and thus, named the program as 'Dev Anand Best Actor, Actress and Best Model Contest'in 1994. Anand observed that the demise of Dev Saab was a big loss to the Indian Film Industry as well as to the nation. “Dev Saab had been working in the Indian Film Industry since 1945 and was still active enough to making films on regular basis. It may be noticed that no other person has been able to work”, he said.
