12/15/2011 9:56:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Dec 15: Condemning the anti youth policies of the state
government, the Youth of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh (YJKL) today staged
a unique protest ‘Sukhi Roi Khao’ in this symbolic protest the
protestors ate stiff bread (Sukhi Rotis).
Raising slogans against the fresh recruitment policy, the volunteers
of the YJKL movement continued protest outside Jammu University
against new recruitment policy of state govt by eating “sukhi rotis.”
In this unique protest Suhki Roti Khao, led by Raman Sharma vice
chairman YJKL and Ch Nasib Ali Gen Secretary YJKL the activist of YJKL
ate dried Roti alleging that state government wants the future
generation of youth in state to struggle for the bread and their
livelihood. Alleging that state government is carrying forward anti
youth policies which will result in huge loss to the youth
Earlier addressing gathering and media persons present on the protest
venue, the Suresh Ajay Magotra chairman YJKL said that this policy is
not for the welfare of youth of state, govt is be fooling the youth by
just providing job with Rs 3000 per month.
Mocking the policy, Magotra said, “no one can earn ‘roti’ for one
month in this policy which we want meager as education is so expensive
now days one has lots of liabilities on him.”
He questioned how can a single individual survive on mere Rs. 3000
where as policy makers are drawing 90 thousands per month how this is
justified policy at least govt should provide pay to the employees.
“We will fight up to some conclusive end otherwise this is not
acceptable as this is against human rights, he added.
Baber Ali Secretary YJKL said that state govt is doing injustice to
the youth as they want to derail the educated youth from constructive
approach to the destructive one. “In Jammu and Kashmir in absence of
private sector all youths are dependent upon the government jobs and
what made the policy makers to judge Rs 3000 fit for survival of a
person while some may even have dependents also, he said adding that
this is symbolic protest to show resentment against discriminatory
attitude of state govt towards youth by not providing job but the YJKL
will continue its protest against fresh recruitment policy.
Among others who spoke during the protest included Rishi Bhardwaj,
Manjeet Singh, Anil Sharma, Rohit Manjot Singh, Inamul, Rigzin Tundup
and Nitin.
