| BSNL strike affects work in Jammu | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 15 : Work in the BSNL offices remained affected here today due to a day-long strike of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in support of countrywide strike against the alleged anti-people policies of the Centre.
The employees of the country’s largest telecom government service provider, BSNL, stayed away from work, thus suffering the customers.
The BSNL subscribers, who had come to deposit their telephone bills, were not allowed to enter the counters by the security personnel.
BSNL union leaders alleged that the government at the Centre had planned to destroy the company in the interest of private telecom companies.
They added that the agitation was for fulfillment of 15-points demands, including no voluntary retirement scheme, payment of bonus, restoration of medical allowance, procurement of latest equipment, restoration of ADC and pension contribution on actual basic pay.
