High chaired sources in police informed that two cops of Jammu and Kashmir police are under scanner of government following corruption charges leveled against them. "Though, police department is tight lipped over the matter, but sources within police department said further adding, "a deal over a huge amount of Rs 2 lakh was struck between drug smuggler and two cops on the ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police and Sub Inspector." The matter of corruption was brought to the notice of home department by some police officers that they had received inputs of the incident, they added. Sources said that a truck carrying charas was held during naka checking. On being interrogated driver of the truck informed that he had given Rs 2 lakh to SSP through ICPP to let the consignment scot-free from their jurisdiction. Sources said that the matter was also in the knowledge of senior most police officers and crackdown in this connection is likely. |
