Rejection of return plan by KPs an eye opener: PK
12/16/2011 8:22:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 16:Panun Kashmir (PK) convenor Dr Agnishekhar said that admission of
Government of India in the parliament for its failure to lure the
exiled KP community’s return to valley is a reflection of turning away
from the real causes responsible for the genocide and exodus of the
community.
Addressing the political affairs committee of PK, Agnishekhar said the
statement of the Union Minister of State for Home Jitender Singh that
in spite of allocating Rs 1618 crores for the return of Kashmiri
Pandits not a single pandit family has returned to the valley which
clearly indicates that state as well as central governments have time
and again failed to asses or are turning a blind eye to the real
causes of their exile.
Dr Agnishekhar reminded the political class of this country of the
continuous process of Kashmiri Pandit Community's exodus and genocide.
He said that the Govt of India is persistently brushing aside the core
issue of genocide and exodus of the community without addressing these
issues the so called return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri pandit
community in valley will stand rejected by the exiled community as has
been done in this case.
The machination of governments in the power, roping in so called apex
members, who do not represent the will and aspirations of community
are bound to fail.
The exodus and genocide of the Kashmiri pandit community in no way
could be settled by offering economic packages, Dr Agnishekhar said
adding that it needs a political solution so that the repeated exile
and genocide of KPs comes to a halt.
The geo-political resolve of Kashmiri pandit community for a separate
homeland in the Kashmir valley is the only way of their return and
rehabilitation. The rejection of the return plan by the community
should be an eye opener for the so called apex committee members who
time and again have tried to barter the community interests by acting
as the agents of the government for their vested interests, said the
president Panun Kashmir Vijay Bhat.
