| After Haji Yousuf’s death, Omar Govt has lost | | morale authority to govern: Mehbooba | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Dec 16: Stating that there was complete lawlessness in the
state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti Friday
alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir government was behaving like a
helpless widow. She categorically after the mysterious death of Haji
Yousuf, Omar led government has lost morale authority to govern.
Charging upon the Omar led government the PDP president said the
government has lost all the moral authority to govern as criminals and
miscreants are having a field day. “More so after the alleged
custodial death of Haji Yousuf, this government has lost morale
authority to govern,” she said. Referring to Chief Minister Omar
Abdullah’s yesterday’s statement regarding the killing of Tariq
Mehbooba said, “Nobody has stopped the CM from taking action against
the culprits. Why is he making hue and cry. He isn’t a commoner but CM
and has authority to take action.”
Mehbooba said, “Instead of wailing and weeping all the time the
government should put their act together and punish not only those
miscreants who are involved in cases like (Nowhatta shopkeeper)
Tariq’s death and killing of a 10-day old infant in north Kashmir last
year, but also bring to book the culprits involved in last year’s
killing of 120 youth.”
The PDP president said that when 120 youth were killed summer turmoil
irony of the matter is that Omar branded them as Lashker-e-Toiba
operative, drug addicts and criminals.
“They have not given justice to even a single family. Three to four
people have been killed by the miscreants since last year. However, he
(Omar) instead of taking action against the culprits raises hue and
cry,” she added.
