Talking to valley based news agency after visiting family of Tariq Ahmad of Nowhata who died on Wednesday after being hit by miscreants on December 3, IGP Kashmir Sahai said, “Some vested interests are exploiting young boys and instigating them to pelt stones and indulge in other criminal activities. Police will not shy away from taking tough action against those who indulge in such activities.” The IGP said that during the summer unrest of 2010, people cooperated fully with the police. “It is because of peoples’ cooperation that situation remained peaceful in 2011.
