Selected KAS candidates yet wait for postings | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 16: More than three months have passed since the final result of the prestigious Kashmir Administrative Services was declared. But the successful candidates are yet to join. 189 candidates were declared successful on 2nd September 2011, when J&K Public Service Commission conducted the whole examination process in a record period of less than one year. After referring the successful candidates for medical examination in Medical College Jammu and Medical College Srinagar, the final report has been submitted to the Public Service Commission in the first week of the October. According to the officials in the Public Service Commission the final selection list along with the medical report has been submitted to the General Administrative Department on 22nd November 2011. However the General Administrative department is yet to take any action on the matter. “It takes less than a month for government to allocate the service and issue appointment orders after the declaration of results” said a successful candidate on promised anonymity. “More than three months yet there is no word from the government,” he lamented. “Some of us were working in government and non government organizations and after selection all have left jobs, as we expected appointments within a month’s period,’ another rued further adding that this has created problems for many of us.” Meanwhile a senior official in administration department said a detailed examination of the papers of the selected candidates had to be done. Posts will be allotted to them soon.
