Kishtwar, Dec 16 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday said that justice to all is policy of his government and coalition is working to seek peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.
Asking the workers of coalition partners to upgrade their rapport between each other and reach out to people in every area, the Chief Minister said that joint efforts are required to address the grievances of people and seek their redressal.
Addressing party workers, reception meetings and public interactions in Kishtwar, the Chief Minister said that the initiatives taken by the Government to empower common man, ensure prompt public service delivery and make people partners in the governance are historic.
Omar said that the transfer of powers from administration to common people by establishment of a powerful panchayat system in the State is aimed at cultivating good work culture and giving impetus to the equitable development in the State.
The Chief Minister said that the implementation of Public Service Guarantee Act and strengthening of Right to Information Act and Accountability Commission are other measures taken to empower people to make the Administration answerable before them and bring about transparency in its functioning of Government Departments.
“These measures would reduce the chances of corruption to a greater degree and make government functionaries responsive and prompt”, he said adding that the Public Service Guarantee Act gives legal right to public to obtain specified public service in a specific time frame. “Any laxity or failure of the government official in timely delivering of the service would earn him a fine and the affected person is entitled for compensation”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that establishment of new colleges, polytechnics, ITIs and university campuses across the State would enhance the accessibility of students to seek higher education and upgrade their skills. He said his Government has focused on improving the employability of youth so that they are easily absorbed in open job market.
Omar said that the SKEWPY initiative and introduction of new subjects of modern relevance in ITIs and polytechnics would give birth to a new generation of entrepreneurs. He said youth are being encouraged by way of giving them marginal money, training and other assistance to encourage MSME sector in the State and help economic growth.
The Chief Minister also met over a dozen of deputations at Kishtwar and heard their views on development process. The deputations also briefed the Chief Minister of particular demands relating to their areas and the organization they represented.
