jammu, Dec 16: Sher-e-Kashmir's daughter and Awami national Conference (ANC) Chief, Khalida Shah has said that Dr Farooq and his son, Omar Abdullah must come clean on corruption charges levelled against them after National Conference (NC) worker Haji Yusuf's death in Crime Branch custody.
Khalida said she did not know Yusuf. "However, his mysterious death needs to be thoroughly probed", she said.
"I have no concern with what deceased Hajji Mohammad Yousf used to do, but whatever he (Hajji Yousf) was---- He is indeed a human being ---- if any person went to Chief Minister's residence or any other place and later died, no matter what are the reasons behind his death; that need to be thoroughly probed so that the deceased as well as against those there is an allegations will get justice." Ms Shah said.
The ANC chief expressed surprise over Yusuf's access to Chief Minister's residence. "Those at the helm of affairs do not oblige commoners on the pretext that assembly session is underway. But how come Hajji Yousf reaches inside CM residence. It is a matter of concern which first needs to be probed." She said.
Khalida said she had lost faith in commissions constituted by government from time to time as they failed to dispense justice. "As far as Justice Bedi is concerned, he (Justice Bedi) is a good human being as well as a man of integrity--- But as far as my opinion is concerned, we have failed to achieve any result through commissions till date", she said .
"I won't say Omar must step down. Everyone has his own conscience. Omar must see for himself whether his conscience allows him to continue or not", she said.
Khalida flayed Dr Farooq for removing Dr Kamal from party posts. "It was unfair and unjustified", she said. "What Dr Mustafa Kamal has said is true---- whatever Dr. Kamal said is history and nobody can deny that his removal was harsh", she added.
Ms Shah said she came out openly to support Omar when he was connected to sex racket. "I know Omar Abdullah since childhood and was sure that he (Omar) will never do anything like that at any cost", she said.
"Money power and corruption kill the truth. She said that as a first step towards eradication of corruption, his party Awami National Conference has disclosed all details about the assists owned by her and her children", she said.
