Rev Dept retrieves 549 kanals Govt land from grabbers at Ghorata, Amb: Bhalla

Jammu, Dec17: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has asked the Revenue Officers to retrieve Government land from the grabbers with full force in their respective jurisdictions, adding that in this regard best performers would be rewarded.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the Revenue Officers at a meeting held here today.
District Development Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Indeerjit Bhagat besides others senior officers of Revenue Department attended the meeting.

District Development Commissioner apprised the Minister that one local of the area has informed to him that some habitual State land encroachers have encroached the 549 kanals land at Ghorata and Amb villages. He said that the said land retrieved from land grabbers and was fenced by the department. He said the department installed sign board at the site for awareness of the people that the said land pertains to the State Government.
Minister asked the Revenue Officers to stop giving ownership rights of ‘Gair Mumkin Khads’, which were the main source of encroachments by the professional land grabbers, adding that any officer and official found guilty in this regard shall be dealt with accordingly. He said Government has also received complaints regarding fake allotments of State and EP land in different areas of the State. He asked concerned authorities to enquire into the complaints and report to higher authorities for further necessary action.
Earlier, the Minister visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Satwari to attend the annual day function of the school.
On the occasion, the students of the school presented colourful cultural items which were highly appreciated by the staff members, parents, eminent personalities and students.
Chief Education Officer, Jammu Natha Ram Dingra was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile Minister for Relief also distributed winter uniform among the poor lot students and asked the teachers to lay stress on imbibing moral values among the students to help them become responsible citizens of the country.
Responding to the demand of students, the Minister announces Rs. 10.50 lakh for construction of 4-room including varanda in the school premises. He asked the executing agency to immediately start the execution works on the project and use quality material.
