CS reviews progress of land acquisition on Udh-Baramulla Railway Track | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 17: Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal, today has called for expediting award and disbursement of full compensation to the land owners, whose land is acquired for laying railway lines and related infrastructure on the Udhampur- Baramulla track. Chairing an Apex Committee meeting here regarding construction of Udhampur-Baramulla rail link project, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the land acquisition cases and removal of impediments thereof. While referring to the provisions of railway crossings at regular intervals for pedestrian safety and free movement of people living along the track, Chief Secretary directed for close coordination and consultation between the railway authorities and the district administration regarding these issues and asked for furnishing a detailed report by the railway authorities in this regard. Referring to the specific case of providing a level crossing at Sheikhpora Budgam the railway authorities were asked to expedite the process and provide full details about the steps that have been taken in this regard. The meeting was attended by Chief Administrative Officer Northern Railways, B D Garg, Finance Commissioner Revenue, Parmodh Jain, Principal Secretary R&B, K.B. Aggarwal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister B.B Vyas Commissioner PDD, Basharat Ahmad Dhar, Commissioner Secretary Forest, Shantmanu, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Kachoo Isfandyar Khan, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag, Pulwama, Ramban and Reasi, Chief Engineers , Concerned collectors of land acquisition and other senior Northern Railway officials and administrative officers.
