| Orientation programme held under ATMA for Rabi Crops | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Dec 17: Under a series of training camps in Agriculture Department initiated under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer Udhampur Suneel Koul,” Farmers School under ATMA for the Rabi Crops was established in Dubi Gali of Block-Panchari on other day.
The farmers field School provides an innovative method of teaching the farmers about production technology of wheat crop along with practical demonstration of different field operations in respect of seed treatment line sowing balanced dose of fertilizer application, weed management, disease and pest management and post harvet care for better Yield. “A demonstration plot laid by the target farmer under the guidance of experts from the department held in giving practical knowledge to the progressive farmers about production technology on wheat crop, spokesperson said.
The farmers field school was inaugurated by the convenor of the Block Technology Team of Panchayat Block Vijay Kaw who gave a detailed account about ATMA and other ongoing Departmental activities. Besides the activities of allied departments like Horticulture was also discussed in detail in the camp.
On the sideline of the farmer field School farmers training camp undern Tribal Sub-Plan was held in the areas in which seventy Five farmers from Gujjar and Bakerwal community participated. The training camp was attended by Charajit Sharma, Agriculture Extension officer panches Ajay Gupta, Horticulture Development officer Moungri Pawan Talwae and Sudher Manha Juniro Agriculture Extension officer along with sarpanch and panches of the area.
