| SI booked for firing on advocate | | | early times report
Jammu/Dec 17:A Sub Inspector, posted in police station Ram Nagar, has been booked for land grabbing and firingon Advocate by Satwari Police station here today.
Sources giving information said that Satwari police received phone calls from Phalliyan Mandal area in which complainant alleged that a Sub Inspector opened fire with the intention to kill a lawyer who objected for land grabbing. The incident made the area panicky, complainant alleged, but the same complaint was turned downed by Satwari police. It was after senior police officer’s direction,SHO of the area rushed to the spot to arrest the accused SI.
Later the advocate Nitin lodged written complaint to the police alleging that SI Vijay Kumar opened fire on him with his service weapon when he objected for his land grabbing. He further alleged that in the incident he had narrow escape. SP South Rajeshwer Singh when contacted said that a case in this connection has been registered against the SI.He further said that an investigation has been started to know how a cop took his service weapon with him from his place of posting even though he was reportedly on leave.
