| Police foil bid to smuggle bovine smuggling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Dec17: Udhampur police rescued 4 bovine animals which were being transported to Kashmir valley in a passenger vehicle tempo travel bearing registration No. JK11/4627after removing its seats.
According to reports based on an input, a police party of police station Rehmbal under the command of SHO Police Station Rehmbal laid a surprise naka at National Highway near Chopra Shop in the wee hours and intercepted one passenger Vehicle Tempo Travel, which was on way to Kashmir from Jammu.
Reports added that noticing the surprise naka party, the driver of the vehicle fled away taking advantage of the darkness, leaving behind the abandoned vehicle. 04 bovine animals were recovered from the vehicle which was loaded inside the passenger vehicle after removing its seats. In this connection, a case FIR No. 218/2011 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at Police Station, Rehmbal.
