Bishnah tense following murder of police informer's father

JAMMU: Bishnah town today got tensed after the murder of a man at his residence in Chack Harniya here today. Agitating people resorted to stone pelting on police station Bishnah alleging that the death was a murder by some accused with the connivance of Bishnah police.
People took the body of the deceased and laid before police station Bishnah shouting anti police slogans. The situation turned ugly when mob started pelting stone resulting police to fire in air besides shooting tear gas shells. The dingdong battle between police and protestors continued till late hours which caused injuries to cops and protestors.
The incident occurred in the late evening of Saturday, when a group of persons with sharp edged weapons entered in the residence of police informer and stabbed his family. In the ensuing clash, a middle aged man stabbed to death.
Reports pouring from Bishnah said that one Poorn Chand gave information to police that some persons were planning to smuggle bovine animals from the area during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Reports added that SHO Bishnah Satish Kumar disclosed the same to the bovine smugglers who taking revenge of information barged into the residence of informer with sharp edged weapons.
In the ensuing clash the father of the informer Mohan Lal received fatal injuries resulting into his death on spot and injuries to his brother Roop Kumar. Thereafter the alleged bovine smugglers identified as Sham Lal, Tilk Raj, Rinku, Soni and Anil escaped from the spot.
After the incident, people laid the body of the deceased outside the police station. They also started pelting stone on police station. However, taking cognizance of the matter SSP Jammu Anand Jain placed SHO Bishnah Satish Kumar under suspension and deputed Inspector Bharat Bushan as SHO Bishnah.
Meanwhile the injured police officers including SDPO RS Pura SS Sambyal,SHO RS Pura Paramjeet Singh were rushed to the GMC hospital for treatment. A case in this connection has been registered.
