A high profile lecture on Investment in Stock Market was organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University for its scholars of Business School to keep them abreast with the changing economic scenario the world over.
Prof Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, Head Department of Commerce in University of Kashmir stressed on setting of objective of investment by identifying the risk tolerance limit determined by the financial capability and nervousness of a person. He said that setting of objective should then be followed by a decision on portfolio of investments. He suggested putting a portion of wealth in risky assets and a portion in non-risky assets so as to assure a good return. Fundamental analysis is required to identify the stocks, which consists of economy analysis, industry analysis and finally company analysis.
The Professor also discussed the feasibility of choosing the direct and indirect routes of investment.
