What about those who keep silent on cross voting? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 18: Minister for Industries and Commerce today lashed out at the PDP calling it party of hypocrites who are habitual of double speak. Addressing people at Birpur, Slathia said that the PDP is a party with two faces which has a nefarious and insidious agenda of dividing the state along communal lines. Slathia did not even quote a single incident which would support his argument. He did not quote a single example to prove where the PDP had played a communal card to divide the State on communal lines. It has become customary for the ministers of the government to launch unsubstantiated propaganda against its political rivals, but one thing stands out to prove a very important point that is often overlooked in the jargon of words those are used by the State government to criticize its political rivals. Not once do the ministers or for that matter the Chief Minister speak out against the BJP. What is the reason for this? Is the silence of the State government over the role of the BJP not an example of doublespeak for which they have been accusing the PDP? Did for that matter any minister of the State speak about the cross voting by the BJP assembly members? Isn't it a matter of political propriety to speak against those who cross voted to benefit the ruling NC? People are no longer the dumb driven cattle the ruling NC once thought they were. They can understand the reason behind the silence of the ruling NC in favour of the BJP and also the reasons for the daily ritual of lambasting the PDP. And the phenomenal development the minister spoke about is there for all of us to see. The less we speak about that the better it is.
