MCC Chatroo wins 3rd Police Martyrs Cricket Tournament | Saroori distributes prizes among the players | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar Dec 18: MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today distributed prizes among the players at 3rd Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket tournament at Chatroo organized by Kishtwar Police. According to a press statement after winning the toss, Malik Cricket Club (MCC) Chatroo elected to bat first against New Star Cricket Club Chatroo and scored 190 runs in stipulated 20 over with the help of brilliant century by Mohammad Ashraf Malik of MCC Chatroo. In reply to 190 runs, New Star Cricket Club lost wickets at regular intervals and manage to score only 140 runs losing the match by 50 runs. Mohammad Ashraf of MCC Chatroo was declared as Man of the match for scoring 101 runs, while Najeeb Ahmed of New Star Cricket Club was declared as man of the series for his all round performance. While presenting the awards to winners, MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori in his address said that government has accorded sanctioned for construction of mini stadium at Tehsil Chatroo, so that tournaments like Police Martyrs and other sports events can be organized. He said that sports are an important medium to promote communal harmony and amity among the various sections and communities. He also lauded the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police for organizing such events to pay tributes to the Martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. On the occasion Dy SP (DR) Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh and SHO Chatroo Farooq Ahmed Kahteeb and other office bearers were also present.
