Two highway robbers arrested, manhunt for tow absconders

Samba Dec 18: Samba police today claimed to have arrested two highway robbers for their alleged involvement in a case registered against FIR 140/2011 already stands registered u/s 392 IPC with P/S Kartarpur, police said, adding massive manhunt is on to nab two absconding persons.
SSP Office Samba stated that accused have been identified namely as Prem s/o Gian Masih r/o Chhota Nangal, Kadian, Gurdaspur, Pathankote and Sewa Ram s/o Biru Ram r/o Bodi Sahib, Kadian Gurdaspur, Pathankote.
Police Spokesperson said that it the arrest was made following the complaint from one Arvinder Singh s/o Sardar Baldev Singh r/o Sarna, Pathankote alleging that some persons on a gun point had snatched his vehicle Mahindra XYLLO bearing regd no PB06J-0400 from Pathankote.
Acting on the report, a police party headed by SI Inderjeet Singh Incharge PP Supwal under the supervision of Israr Khan SSP samba and Munish Anand, Dy SP Samba launched search operation and found the vehicle in question standing near Nanak-e-Chak, police added.
It further said that on seeing the police party, the accused persons assaulted on them with sharp edged weapon i.e. Toka, injured one of the police personnel and tried to flee from the spot but the swift action of Supwal Police resulted in nabbing both the above mentioned accused persons after a hot chase however, the other 02 accused persons managed to flee from the spot. “The police party has recovered the snatched vehicle, a toka and a toy revolver from the possession of accused persons, it added.
Accordingly, a separate case against FIR 316/2011, u/s 353/332 RPC 4/25 arms act has also been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started. Besides this police has launched a massive manhunt for the other 02 co-accused identified as namely Jagga Ram & Rakha Ram, both residents of Wisarwah, Punjab.
