| MOBILE IN KOT BHALWAL JAIL | | DG SUSPENDS SIX JAIL STAFFERS | | Jammu | January 12 Cracking down on nexus between the jail staff and hardened militants lodged in high security Kot Bhalwal central jail, Director General of Prisons Rajinder Tickoo on Friday suspended six jail staff members including three constables, one head constable, one store keeper and tailor for playing active role in smuggling of mobile handsets and SIM cards inside jail premises. Head constable, Ghulam Mustafa Constable Bashir Ahmed, Constable Mohd Rafiq, Constable Mohd Ayub, Store keeper Prabhu Dayal and tailor Subash Kumar have been suspended by DG Prisons Rajinder Tickoo. Confirming the suspension of six jail staff, highly placed official sources disclosed that after establishing involvement of all six jail staff members in smuggling mobile handsets and SIM cards inside the jail premises to hardened militants the prison authorities cracked its whip and decided to shunt them out. It may be mentioned that after the sensational recovery of mobile handsets from inside the jail premises in October 2006, prison authorities had shifted jail staff to other jails in the state |
