Poorav Sainik Sewa Parishad celebrates Vijay Diwas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 18: Poorav Sainik Sewa Parishad organization of Ex-serviceman organizes Vijay Diwas to commemorate victory of magnificent Indian forces over Pakistan in December 1971 War. The members of Poorav Sainik Sewa Parishad recalled that it was a world record surrender of 93000 Pakistan soldiers with their weapons and added that it was a record surrender after 2nd world war, where they forced surrender of 90,000 troops. Poorav Sainik Sewa Parishad remembered and honoured family members of 23 martyrs by presenting cash award of Rs3000 and a Shawal. “Of these 23 martyrs 5 belong to Army, 5 to CRPF and 13 to J&K Police hailing from different districts of J&K state, the statement issued by the spokesperson said. The function was held under overall supervision of Brig S.S.Sharma Chief Guest on the occasion. Major Gen (Retd) S K Sharma, EME crops of Indian Army, Brig Suchet Singh chairman of the function and others were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile the members of Poorav Sainik Sewa Parishad reiterated their stand for total integration of state with India and abrogation of article 370 and AFSPA to army in its present from to enable army to function smoothly to crush anti-national elements.
