| Sainik School Nagrota organises ex-students meet | | | JAMMU DEC:19As an annual feature, Ex-Students Meet was organised at Sainik School Nagrota on 18 Dec 2011. A large number of ex-students of this premier institution of J&K turned up on this occasion alongwith their families. The programme began with the school song presented by the School Choir. In his address to the gathering, Group Captain Ajay Kumar, Principal of the school mentioned that the school is taking rapid strides in producing excellent officers in the Armed Forces and in other walks of life as well. Further, the Principal gave a resume of the achievements of the school during the past year including the successful conduct of All India Sainik Schools’ Principals Conference in October 2011. He exhorted the old boys to contribute to the welfare and progress of their Almamater by sharing their valuable wisdom with the younger lot. Mr Randhir Singh Billawaria, Chairman, NEXAS, in his address, assured all possible contribution for the development of the school. To mark the Silver Jubilee of their passing out from the school, the 1979-86 batch presented an LCD TV and an Air-conditioner to the school and shared their evergreen memories with the gathering. Besides, the principal also felicitated the ex-teachers Mr BD Sharma,
Mr DK Koushal and Mr ZA Usmani who were also present on this occasion.
Following the presentation ceremony, some entertaining games were organized for ladies and children. After a sumptuous lunch, the Ex-students and families visited latest additions in the academic block such as Smart Classrooms, Maths Lab etc and further went round their hostels which brought back nostalgic memories of the past years days before their eyes.
