| Lecture on Global Warming held in GDC Kathua | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, DECEMBER 19 - An extension lecture was organized by the P.G. Department of Geography on the topic “Global warming and Climate Change-A big challenge for Mankind” in the College Auditorium of the government degree college, Kathua today.
The Guest speaker was Ex-minister and environmentalist Mr Babu Singh who delivered the lecture in front of a huge gathering at the College. The speaker introduced the audience to the dangers facing humanity as a result of current development paradigm that is based on exploitation of nature, dehumanization of man and maximization of growth and profit which according to him was unsustainable in the long run.
Speaking on the occasion the Principal, Dr. Nater Singh said that global warming can be tackled successfully if we consider man as a part of nature. The talk was a part of the series of lectures that the Post Graduate Department of Geography plans to organize in the near future.
