Neglected areas to get focused attention: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DECEMBER 19- Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said that the Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the state adding it has accorded first priority to the welfare of those belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. The Minister was interacting with the inhabitants of Kunjwani after launching lanes and drains work. . Bhalla said that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and PM Dr Manmohan Singh have always evinced keen interest to make Jammu and Kashmir a model state for which the state was being liberally funded. He said several projects under PMGSY and ADB are apace in the state adding that various schemes for tackling unemployment problem have already been launched, including SKEWPY besides thousands of rural people are being benefited under MGNREGA scheme. The Minister said focus of the Government was to develop all the remote, far-flung and neglected areas of the state by providing all civic amenities at par with urban pockets. He asked the executing agency to use quality material and complete the work within stipulated time frame. He asked the executing agency to remove mulba from the lanes immediately after completing the development works so that the residents do not face any in convenience. Interacting with the locals, the Minister said that a number of tube-wells with Over Head Tanks have been constructed in Gandhi Nagar constituency so far and the works on many others was in full swing. He said that about 10 receiving stations were being developed in various parts of his constituency and many of these have already been completed. He said the work on 6-lane road with Centre dividers from Satwari to Kunjwani is in full swing.
